Programme Length

Au pairs travel to Canada on a Working Holiday Visa otherwise known as IEC and stay for 12 months, however placements can extend up to 24 months.

Hours and Stipend

As an Au Pair, you may provide childcare and light childcare related housework for your host family and will work between 25-44 hours per week and receive minimum wage of between $9.75-$11.00 depending on the state that you are placed in.

Childcare Responsibilities

Au Pairs may have a wide range of responsibilities related to childcare. An Au pair provides busy parents with a much needed “extra set of hands” and duties can include childcare and light housekeeping related to childcare such as doing the children’s laundry and cleaning up after the children.

Au Pair Programme Requirements

• You must be 18 to 35 years old.
• Proficient in English or French.
• Have a minimum of 200 hours proven childcare experience, however additional hours are preferred and gain placement quickly.
• Be in good health.
• Be a non smoker
• Have successfully completed and passed our referee and police vetting.  (Minimum of 2 childcare related references & minimum of two character references required).
• Have successfully undertaken an interview either via Skype or in person. 
• A driver's licence is not necessary
• Be available & willing to commit to a placement for a minimum of 12 months
