Au Pair Criteria For New Zealand

To apply for an Au Pair position in New Zealand you will need to:

• Show a genuine love & understanding of children & genuinely want to be an Au Pair
• Have a clear understanding of your role as an Au Pair & the importance you play in a child's life
• Have some insight into the emotional & developmental needs of a child
• Show enthusiasm, be energetic & fun-loving
• Show maturity
• Commit to the entirety of your contract term (With the exception of a placement not working out)
• Be a non smoker & in excellent health
• Have a happy disposition
• Be committed to your role as an Au Pair & follow the guidelines of our Au Pair programme
• Have at least 200 hours proven documented childcare experience, outside friends and family
• Be at least 18 years of age and no older than 30
• Provide proof of a recent clean Police Check/Report from your home country
• Provide at least two childcare related references (The more you provide, the better your chances are in securing a position)
• Provide at least two character references stating your suitability as an Au Pair
• Have a valid full Drivers Licence (The majority of families require a licenced driver)
• A good level of English
• Provide proof of a medical certificate confirming that you are in good health
• Medical, travel and public liability Insurance for the entirety of your stay
• A return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket
